Coral Calcium – Space age stuff?

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

You know, I remember as a kid when we were essentially promised all of these fantastic things in the future. Like flying cars, hovering cities, people living on the moon, space travel. All that good stuff. Well, as we can all certainly see for ourselves, I think that we’ve fallen a bit short of those wistful dreams. That being said, when something like coral calcium is such a hot topic of debate among so many well learned colleagues it makes me wonder if something like this is just another stepping stone closer to humanity finally making good on all those promises of such a neat future.

I couldn’t help but make the comparison to my wife the other day that the whole fight between Dish Network vs Direct TV seems a lot like the presidential election that we Americans are all being subjected to. The only difference, I guess, is that the CEOs for these companies aren’t out on the trail kissing babies and shaking hands.

But seriously, there’s been lots of back and forth between these two since the beginning of December, mainly focusing on things like who has more HD channels. I think we all just need to agree that they’re both better than what we have now (ie cable) and move on.

Most of us think a cover on the hot tub is an accessory that does not require a lot of thought. The fact is that they serve a much bigger purpose than we give them credit for and, while nobody needs to be obsessed about them, they do deserve a little attention to be sure they are doing their job efficiently.

The job of hot tub covers is not only to keep out bugs and the pet cat but also to keep your tub working as long and inexpensively as possible. If you think about the mechanics involved, most of the wear and tear on  a hot tub comes from filtering water and maintaining a consistent temperature. Your  tub cover is involved with both of those functions. The more insulated and tightly fitted the cover is, the cheaper it is to heat the water. The better fitting the cover is the better job it will do of keeping out dirt. This means your filtration system will need to work less which in turn will extend the life of your system. The bottom line is that when your hot tub cove is not doing it’s job as efficiently as possible it is costing you money.

Do You Use Your Exercise Equipment?

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

If you buy some exercise equipment will you actually use it more than once? That is the problem most of us have, we buy things with the best of intentions, but then it gets consigned to the corner of the room as a professional dust catcher after a few uses. So does it work? Absolutely yes! Most of the equipment is very good and would get you the results you want if you used it, take the ab chair for instance. This is a highly versatile unit that allows you to workout your abs in a whole range of ways, but if you never use it…

If you’re like me then you probably start to feel a little nervous when you apply for credit from the bank, or even for a new car lease. Wondering what might stop you from getting that loan, and the new item you want to buy.

Part of this feeling is because we don’t know what is in our credit files that could stop the bank from giving us the loan. If we all took advantage of every consumers right to repair bad credit we might have more confidence next time we went to apply for credit.

Thanks to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, all consumers are entitled to see what is contained in their credit report, and also challenge items that are in question. Of course not all items are questionable or errors. If you don’t pay your bills on time then that is obviously going to come back to haunt you.

Taking time each year to review the information contained in your file from the credit reporting agencies, and ensuring that it’s clean of errors will go a long way in easing your mind next time you go to apply for a loan.

Shared Web Hosting

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

Web hosting is very simple and straightforward and once you obtain your space in cyberspace you will never want to let it go. You can easily move it where you want as a turtle carries its shell on its back.  Hospedagem is the act of hosting HTML documents, PHP documents, ASP and so on, on a dedicated computer that will serve them to anyone that is interested in viewing them.  It is a service which allocates space for customers to showcase their websites on computer servers that are connected to the Internet 24/7.  Shared web hosting is often a good place to start, especially when you are unsure of exactly what your needs are, how many visitors you will get or how much storage space you need.

When you start to learn the piano, the temptation is to throw yourself into it wholeheartedly. You’ll spend every available minute plonking away, trying to elicit something recognisable from your instrument. That’s fine, you need to get all that accumulated enthusiasm out of your system. You’ll soon find, however, that once this initial fervour has subsided that you’ll need to establish a practical and effective practise regime.

Most Piano Lessons For Beginners recommend at least half an hour’s practise per day. Sales pitches for some training courses say that with their magic system you can get by with little or no practise, just a few minutes a day they say. Forget it, the whole purpose of practise, is to lay down and reinforce neural pathways that link eye to hand so that when you see a note on a page, you can almost instinctively play it. Without practise, this will never happen.

Many authorities suggest that several short periods of practise rather than one long one are more effective. I find this to be true, it’s easy for concentration to flag in a long practise session. I try to do three ten minute sessions per day, with a few one or two-minute bursts whenever I walk past the piano. This works for me – try a number of different regimes and see what works for you.

The Best Construction Loans For Home Builders

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

Are you looking for construction loans that would be the most suitable for your particular requirements? Also, if you are particularly looking to build a home then you can opt for the Construction/Perm Advantage Loan offered by many new construction loan companies.

This type of loan gives a two-fold benefit to its borrowers. First, it gives two loans in one, an interim loan for building the house and a long-term loan for the completed house.

Second, it locks the initial interest rate to the second (mortgage) loan also along with the first loan. This means that your interest rate remains the same for both the loans. This leads to a hassle-free repayment.

I work from home. I have a home office, but I am very rarely in it. While I am on the phone, I am also throwing a load of laundry in the washer, loading dirty dishes into the dishwasher, and making beds. When I am working on the computer, I am also feeding my daughter, rocking her to sleep, or reading her a book. Although I am able to stay home and save money on gasoline and childcare, work from home is often more stressful than work done outside of the home. My friend also stays at home all day. She doesn’t have children, and she doesn’t work from home. She spends her days sipping coffee and iced tea from her garden building. She is beginning to annoy me, because she is always complaining about how exhausted she is. Garden buildings and home offices are not the same. I’ll sit in her garden building all day, while she spends a day in my home office. We’ll see how exhausted she is then!

Another Money Saving Tip

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

When you’re cooking a family meal, it isn’t difficult to extend it to cover an extra meal or two. By doing this every night and freezing the extra meals, you will not only end up with one or two nights without having to cook you will also save money. This is only one part of the puzzle of course, so if you spend a lot on your mobile bill you should consider free and discounted line rental Vodafone mobile contract deals. If you usually spend £5 to feed your family an evening meal, then by not having to cook once a week you’ll save £250 in a year. I you’re able to cover two nights’ meals you’ll save £500 a year. Think what you could do with that!

Easy photo printing keeps your memories alive

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

Wow! Did that happen fast! My kids are already in high school. It seems as if just yesterday they were heading off to kindergarten. Fortunately, my husband and I took a lot of pictures, but that was before online photo sharing sites like Hoorray offered easy photo printing. We lost nearly all the negatives of the original prints, and some of the more precious photos had gotten pretty banged up hanging on the fridge, so I scanned them in on my PC and uploaded them to Hoorray. Then, using their easy photo printing process, I recreated a lot of memories from when my son was 7 and my daughter was 4. I love the digital age!

Treating A Sun Allergy Reaction

Monday, January 21st, 2008

If you break out with a skin rash after being out in the sun there are some things you can do to ease your pain. The first thing you should do is cool the area with a cold compress and take some aspirin for the pain. Then go in to see your doctor as soon as you can to confirm whether or not you have a sun allergy. This will likely require various tests to rule out other illnesses, and to pinpoint if it is indeed an allergic reaction. If it does indeed come back as sun allergies, you may be advised to take some medication if the reaction was severe enough. Oral steroids are common as well as Beta-carotene. You can also get what is called PUVA or ultraviolet therapy on your skin. This is usually performed early in the spring before the peak sun weather to desensitize your skin to the sun.
