Michelin, Goodyear, and Bridgestone are the 3 leading brands of tyres in the world.  Michelin tyres have been around since 1891, and are the standard in Formula One races. Goodyear tyres started in 1898, and its blimp is a worldwide trademark.  Bridgestone is actually a Japanese tyre company, founded in 1931. They also manufacture aircraft and bicycle tyres.
