When you come across some very good sphagnum moss for orchids your first reaction is probably to keep it’s location a secret. After all, good quality moss si hard to find and a good reputation is well worth having a steady supply of good moss. But when it is comiing from South America, where the climate and land lend themselves admirably to good sphagnum, the need for secrecy decreases. Because there is a lot of it easily available and there are companies harvesting moss in large quantities, but in a way that will sustain their raw materials for many years to come.
