My husband and I recently purchased a house with a water filtering system. What we did not realize when we bought it was, the system is so old that you have to special order the water filters for it. Before the cost seemed as if it were going to be minimal because the filters we had looked at in stores were inexpensive, however we have to pay a premium to the company that produced the system in the first place in order for them to make the “special order” for us. Not only is it super frustrating, but it has soured me to updating the system because what happens when they stop making that one too?
