When my husband and I moved to Vermont and had a few acres we decided that we wanted a vegetable garden. We had one in our old home, but it was very small. We wanted to grow our own produce. I love to can and preserve vegetables. The one thing we realized living so far north was that we were going to have to build a greenhouse if we wanted to garden. If we waited until the winter was over it would be too late to be able to grow all the vegetables we want. We built a basic greenhouse from an easy kit. It works perfectly for us as we can start seeds and plants very early in the spring and we can be ready when it’s time to plant.
