Marriage is hard. Anyone who’s married can attest that marriage is difficult. When you find yourself at a crossroads in your marriage, there are no simple solutions. Should I save marriage and avoid divorce, or should I contact a lawyer? Should we try a temporary separation? If you choose to save marriage and avoid divorce, you and your spouse have to be willing to work. Marital issues are going to have to be resolved, and the process is long, difficult, and often painful. Seek the help of a professional to help you through your issues. If money is an issue, check with your local church to see if they offer counseling services. Once you find a counselor that you both feel can help you, you can set up times to meet. In addition, search your own soul. Ask yourself what you can do better to help your marriage. This isn’t about blame; this is just asking yourself what you can personally do to make your relationship better. Choosing to work on your marriage relationship instead of choosing a divorce may be a difficult decision, but if your marriage can be saved, you’ll be so glad that you chose to work it out together.
