When I began taking free lance writing assignments, I didn’t expect them to be about the merits of one soft drink over another.  But if that is what I have to write about to put food on the table, then that’s what I will do.  And that is one of the benefits of writing Product Reviews.  It literally puts food on the table.  When I receive an assignment from a company, they usually send a sample of their product for me to try before I write the review.  I have received samples of potato chips, candy bars, cookies, breath mints, and energy drinks.  The best assignments are for small appliances, sports equipment, pet food, (I have a dog), and diapers, (I also have a six month old son).  In addition to paying me to write, some companies send me cases of their products when my reviews are especially favorable.  If I could only write a review for Ferrari!
