In business class today, we had a discussion about anti-terrorism businesses for the future. Before the topic got too heated, I told the class at large that I was Muslim, and many of them were a little surprised. A few people in my class know me better and already knew this. I was ready for their next point, too. “There are Muslim businessmen who fight terrorism,” I said. I gave my favorite example, Fuad El-Hibri of Emergent Bio-Solutions, although there are several more I could name. He makes the anthrax vaccines for American servicemen who go overseas. He protects us, I told the class.
