Early Works Museum Encourages Kids to Play and LearnThe Early Works Museum located in Huntsville is one of the premier locations in the area for educating youth about the rich culture and history of the State of Alabama. Three different museums are actually included in the complex, each one paying homage to a different part of Alabama’s long and varied history. Visitors are encourage to feel at home in the complex while enjoying such unique and interesting features as a robotic railway ticket clerk, talking tree and a general store with dress-up opportunities. Along with the actual history of the state, the developments of the railway in Alabama are traced. Visitors are also provided with a peak back in time to the day Alabama entered the United States as the 22nd state with the signing of the Alabama Constitution. While history is often dry and boring for most kids, this museum seeks to bring the history of Alabama alive to children in a completely hands-on and interactive manner. The museum is open daily with the exception of Sundays and Mondays from 9am to 4pm. Groups are encouraged to visit and offered discounted admission prices.
