CMS’s have a terrible reputation for creating duplicate content problems. Most of the ones I have installed and used I’ve had to make lots of changes in order to ensure there are no issues with multiple unique URLs resolving to the same content – which is the primary cause of apparent internal duplicate content. Even I have inadvertently in the past built a duplicate content cms, which had a detrimental effect on a client’s website before I managed to solve the problem – that is how easy it is to get this problem to occur when building a CMS system. Nowadays, I know how to get around the problem, so I don’t have to worry about it quite so much.
