There are a million and one things you can do on a summer vacation with children that will fill your kids with memories to last a lifetime.  Whether the vacation is elaborate or simple, the fact that you are together is what makes a vacation truly special.  Get your kids in on the planning.  See what they would like to see or which fun activity they would like to do while on vacation.  That way, they will feel important that they were able to be involved in some of the decision making on the trip and you will be surprised at how much fun you, as a parent, end up having!
