If you have never traveled to an island before and you don’t know what to pack or bring here are a few suggestions. Most recently I traveled to Captiva Island and learned my lesson. I packed the usual casual clothing, like shorts, teeshirts and sandals along with formal suit and tie for fancy dining. Islands rarely have dining places where this attire is necessary. The weather does not permit such excessive clothing and the atmosphere at the island is of comfort and relaxation. You will not need formal wear. I packed sunblock but I should have packed hats that were big enough to cover both head and shoulders. Sunglasses leave tanning lines on faces and shoulders always suffer the most regardless of how much tanning lotion applied. Pack light, the shops there provide clothing more appropriate for the vacation and become souvenirs for the trip.
